Systemic Executive Coaching
Approach
My practice is substantiated by systemic psychotherapeutic training at the Tavistock and Portman, and I am currently completing my Executive Coaching Practitioner training with the Academy of Executive Coaching, London. I have significant public sector leadership experience (NHS) and have also run a successful speech and language therapy business following my first clinical qualification. I value a balance between thinking and doing.
Though I am familiar with the GROW and Co-Active models, my approach to coaching is systemic in the tradition of Gregory Bateson, following the thread from first- to second-order cybernetics and on to postmodern collaborative-dialogical approaches. I centralise the client's voice, attend to meaning-making, and remain attuned to the relational.
My years of Buddhist monasticism have refined my self-awareness through a longstanding mindfulness and contemplative practice, honing humility and a capacity for self-reflexivity.
